The Kardashian-West Divorce
Last year came to an end, but not before Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were able to close the chapter on their formerly wedded life and settle matters associated with their divorce. It is reported that Kardashian and West will share joint custody of their four children – North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. Despite this, sources close to Kardashian report that she will continue to have the children approximately eighty percent (80%) of the time. The settlement also outlines West’s monthly child support payment, which is $200,000.00 per month. Additionally, West is responsible for covering fifty percent (50%) of the minor children’s educational expenses (i.e., tuition), and security expenses.
Regarding disputes related to the minor children. The couple must attend mediation per the terms of their settlement. If either party fails to attend mediation, the party who does attend becomes the decision maker.
In addition to settling custody and child support, the couple divided their property assets in alignment with the terms of their prenuptial agreement. According to additional reports, both Kardashian and West waived spousal support.
The pair initially split in 2021, with Kardashian filing for divorce in February 2021. West made several public attempts to win back Kardashian following the split, but the pair became officially divorced in March 2022. Although West’s dramatic attempts to win Kardashian back made headline news, it appears he has officially moved on, shocking fans with the news that he and Yeezy designer, Bianca Censori, secretly married in Beverly Hills on January 12, 2023.
