World Mental Health Day helps raise mental health awareness and promotes proactive measures individuals can take to care for their mental health. World Mental Health Day acknowledges the stigma around mental health and is working to alleviate it. Focusing on mental health and allowing individuals to have conversations about their mental health can make a huge difference.
The stars took to social media on World Mental Health Day to promote strong mental health and wellbeing. Here are some of their messages:
Kate Middleton and Prince William
On Instagram, the couple posted this message: “Taking care of our mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. This #WorldMentalHealthDay we are highlighting some of the fantastic organisations providing support for those who might need it – because there is help out there.”
On Instagram, the pop star wrote: “it’s World Mental Health Day and i’m beyond thrilled to team up with BetterHelp again to give away up to $5 million in free therapy. i acknowledge that there are very real barriers when it comes to accessing mental health resources, and while this is only one small gesture (and a much larger systemic problem remains) i wanted to do this again with @betterhelp in hopes of bringing access to a few more people and perhaps inspiring a few of you to try something new and prioritize your own healing.”
On Instagram, the star’s makeup brand, Rare Beauty, posted helpful resources, adding, “While we work to break the stigma around mental health every day, today we acknowledge #WorldMentalHealthDay – a day that raises awareness and advocates for global mental health education and investment. This year the World Federation for Mental Health highlights ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World.’
Despite the negative connotations that surround mental health, resources are available to help care for and improve mental health. Promoting awareness for mental health is one small step in the equation to helping those in need. Mental wellbeing is important for a healthy future and for individuals to have the capacity to live their lives to the fullest.
