Take a Walk in the Park: Take some time with your kids, your family or even by yourself in one of the many parks offered throughout the Triad. From beautiful scenery parks like Bicentennial Park in Greensboro or a nice hike on wooded trails like Washington Park in Winston-Salem, you will be sure to find a spot that will please anyone. Also, plan a visit to the Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park to remember our fallen soldiers from the Triad. Many of the parks also offer picnic tables and shelters so be sure to bring a picnic lunch!
Memorial Day is always the official start of the summer so enjoy it with friends and family. Make a bucket list of summer activities with your kids during the time off, so you can plan ahead. Ask them what they want to get into this summer so they have something to look forward to. Also, take a moment a remember those who sacrificed their lives in the call of duty. The Triad has many veterans who have lost brothers and sisters they served with during times of war; ask them to share memories of fallen soldiers. Memories of these brave men and women live on through stories of remembrance, so reach out and hear stories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
